Another Suit Filed Against Alabama GOP

By Alabama Public Radio

Mobile, AL – The legal wrangling continues in the case of Kellie McGinley against the state Republican Party. The Mobile radio talk show host has filed another lawsuit against the Alabama G-O-P. McGinley's attorney, Johnny Davis, says the new lawsuit says McGinley's supporters were disenfranchised because her name was not on the June Republican primary ballot. McGinley says she was illegally removed from the ballot while campaigning for a seat on the Alabama Board of Education. The state Republican Party voted to disqualify McGinley from the primary election because she had endorsed the Constitution Party on her talk radio show. The state supreme court upheld that decision, and the U-S Supreme Court decided not to intervene.
