Health Departments Begin Offering Flu Shots

By Alabama Public Radio

Montgomery, AL – Most county health departments will begin offering a limited number of flu shots Tuesday. They will offer the shots for the rest of the week. State Health Officer Don Williamson says 60-thousand doses of the flu vaccine were distributed to county health offices. Sixty-five health departments are following the same distribution schedule. Residents whose last names begin with the letters A through D can get vaccinations Tuesday. Last names beginning with E through J can go Wednesday. K through R will be Thursday, and S through Z can go Friday. Jefferson and Mobile counties are working out their own plans, and residents of those areas will be informed of local schedules.
