Montgomery, AL – Alabama Power Company will take its $33 million rate increase as well as a related list of planned environmental projects to state utility regulators Tuesday. Regulators have already approved the rate increase formula to fund the environmental projects. The company says the projects are necessary to meet federal standards. Alabama Public Service Commission spokesperson Clark Bruner says the meeting is an informal hearing. Company officials will make their presentation, and commissioners and members of the public will be able to ask questions. Bruner says the three commissioners will not vote or take any other action at the meeting in Montgomery.
