Montgomery, AL – The Alabama Examiners of Public Accounts will audit the office of Senate President Pro Tem Lowell Barron...with his approval. A movement has started in the state Senate to try to oust Barron as the Senate's top officer. Two Senators involved in that movement sent a letter to the examiners, asking for an audit of Barron's office expenses. Chief Examiner Ron Jones said Wednesday the audit will be performed. Jones also says Barron does support that audit. Barron agrees, saying his office budget is less than $500,000.
