Luverne, AL – The trial of Westley Devon Harris is over. Jurors Tuesday convicted him of capital murder in the shooting deaths of six members of his girlfriend's family. The jury deliberated about seven hours before reaching the decision. Harris was charged with killing his girlfriend's parents, three brothers and grandmother at their Crenshaw County farm in 2002. Harris could be sentenced to life in prison without parole or death. The sentencing phase will begin tomorrow. This was the second trial for Harris. The first one ended in a mistrial because of jury tampering.
