Federal Funds Coming to PickensCo

By Alabama Public Radio

Aliceville, AL – Governor Riley has awarded Pickens County a $200,000 grant to help bring new jobs to West Alabama. The town of Aliceville will use the funding to improve water service to Erosion Control Systems. The company announced in June that it plans to hire more than 50 workers. It will locate its plant operations in an existing building that was once occupied by a textile manufacturer. Erosion Controls manufactures products that helps restrain erosion at construction sites. The grant was provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
