Snake Surprises Dothan Woman at P.O.

By Alabama Public Radio

Dothan, AL – A Dothan woman got a surprise Monday morning when she reached into a post office box at the downtown Post Office. Instead of finding mail, Jean White found a snake. The Dothan ENT employee was making her regular check of the business post office box when she reached in and saw a two-to-three-foot long corn snake under the mail. Post office employees removed the non-poisonous snake then called Animal Control. Workers say they're not sure how the snake slithered into the box, but they do not believe it was put there as a prank. White says she's still shaking.
