Sheriff Wants Tighter ATV Regulations

By Alabama Public Radio

Mobile, AL – Mobile County Sheriff Jack Tillman is continuing his quest to change Alabama's stance on all-terrain vehicles. He's been asking the legislature for tougher regulations for about three years now. He renewed his push this week after a three year old boy was thrown from an A-T-V and killed. Tillman says lawmakers need to establish safety and registration rules for all-terrain vehicles, including helmet requirements. He says until there is a state law, Mobile County deputies will begin impounding some A-T-Vs and arresting some operators for reckless driving.
