Mayor Cleared of Domestic Violence Charges

By Alabama Public Radio

Cleveland, AL – A domestic violence charge against the Mayor of Cleveland, Steve Perdue, has been dismissed. Blount County Judge John Dobson dismissed the charge Monday after Perdue's wife, Teresa, testified that a head butting incident with her husband was an accident. Teresa Perdue had earlier filed a sworn statement that resulted in the charge being filed. She now says that she does not believe her husband intended to hurt her.
