Undated, AL – This is the Labor Day holiday weekend. State and local law enforcement officers are planning to be a visible force during the 78-hour travel period. The enforcement campaign will include line patrols and checkpoints. Authorities are looking for drunk drivers and speeders. Officers also plan to ramp up their enforcement of seat belt and child restraint laws. Troopers estimate 13 people may die in traffic accidents during the holiday. The travel period lasts from 6 PM Friday through midnight Monday.
