Tuscaloosa, AL – The University of Alabama will add more than 54 million dollars to its debt load to pay for six construction projects. University trustees have already approved the plan. The bonds could be issued early next year and would bring the university's total debt to 369 million dollars. Financial affairs vice president Lynda Gilbert says that's really not that much debt for a university of its size. The six projects including a residential community and dining facility, a dormitory and at least one fraternity house.
