Montgomery, AL – Criminal Appeals Court Judge Sue Bell Cobb is officially campaigning for the state's highest judicial position. She announced Tuesday she wants to become the next Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court. Cobb will campaign as a Democrat. In the Republican Party, current Chief Justice Drayton Nabers also is a candidate. He was appointed to the position after former Chief Justice Roy Moore was removed from the office. It would be Nabers' first run for an elected office. And a current Supreme Court justice says he's considering running for the top spot. Justice Tom Parker issued a statement saying if he enters the race, he'll do so as a Republican.
