Birmingham, AL – Company Chairman Charles Phillip McWane apologized for the violations before U-S District Judge Robert Propst levied the fine Monday. The Birmingham-based company was convicted in June of violating the Clean Water Act and discharging polluted wastewater into Avondale Creek in Birmingham. The judge also placed company executives James Delk, Michael Devine, and Charles Robison on probation for violating environmental laws. Delk must serve six months of home detention and Devine three months.
