Birmingham, AL – ``Education Week'' magazine surveyed more than 20 states that use graduation exams and found that Alabama, Ohio and South Dakota were the only ones without evolution questions. The biology textbooks used in Alabama's public schools contain a disclaimer, approved by the State Board of Education, that says ``evolution is a controversial theory.'' Critics say the disclaimer intimidates teachers who want to fully cover evolution.
