Montgomery, AL – The state Public Service Commission approved two separate price increases for Alabama Power Company on Tuesday. The first will allow Alabama Power to increase rates over the next two years. The increases are designed to help the company recover about 227 million dollars for the higher cost of producing energy. The Public Service Commission also is allowing Alabama Power to charge customers two dollars-48 cents a month to recover money the company lost restoring service after recent natural disasters.
