Montgomery, AL – It was the grand jury's first meeting since issuing an indictment October 26th against former Governor Don Siegelman, former HealthSouth CEO Richard Scrushy and two of Siegelman's former Cabinet members. Assistant US Attorney Louis Franklin says the grand jury is still investigating matters, but he declined further comment. The grand jury has been investigating government corruption off and on since June of last year and its 18-month appointment ends December 21st. Franklin says he has no plans to ask for an extension.
