Montgomery, AL – A standardized testing company apparently made a scoring error that affects nearly 25 hundred Alabama school students. State Superintendent Joe Morton told the state school board today the mistake by Harcourt Assessment Incorporated specifically affects students in third-through-eighth grades and 589 schools. Morton says some schools that did not meet their Adequate Yearly Progress goals may actually have done so, and some that did achieve the goals actually may not have. Adequate Yearly Progress status is a major part of the federal No Child Left Behind requirements.
