Grand Bay Students Will Return to School

By Alabama Public Radio

Grand Bay, AL – January 9th is going to be a day of homecoming for some Baldwin County school students. Grand Bay Middle School will reopen on that day. It has been closed since Hurricane Katrina hit the state on August 29th. The storm tore off the roof of the sixth-grade hall. Mold then covered much of that part of the building. About 800 Grand Bay Middle School students will have to have classes in portable buildings because construction work isn't quite done. The cafeteria is still gone and the gymnasium still needs repairs, too, so students and teachers will have to improvise for their lunch and physical education.
