Clanton, AL – The Clanton Police Department is taking sealed bids from the public. It's looking for someone willing to give one of its retirees a home. Okay, the retiree is a dog. Jake is a drug dog that has spent the past two years with the Clanton Police Department. He's retiring and needs a new place to stay. The city is accepting sealed bids for the full-blooded chocolate Labrador until January 25th. Jake is five years old and housetrained, and the bids can be dropped off at the city clerk's office at Clanton City Hall. They can also be mailed. Police Chief James Henderson put in a plug for Jake, saying he's great with people and he's healthy.
