Mobile Firm Will Refurbish Cruise Ships

By Alabama Public Radio

Mobile, AL – A Mobile-based firm has been chosen to refurbish three of Carnival Cruise Lines' ships. Atlantic Marine Incorporated will upgrade the Sensation and the Ecstasy. Both are in New Orleans right now helping the federal government house Hurricane Katrina victims. Atlantic Marine also will upgrade the Elation, which is temporarily sailing out of Galveston and is not on hurricane relief duty. Meanwhile, a Carnival spokesman say the Mobile-based Holiday cruise ship will undergo a 20-day refurbishment at the Grand Bahama Shipyard in Freeport, The Bahamas. The Federal Emergency Management Agency has been using it to house hurricane victims. But it is set to resume its four- and five-day cruises from Mobile to Mexico on March 27th.
