Tallassee, AL – There will be a special election Tuesday in House District 31, which covers Elmore and Coosa counties. Voters will determine who will fill the empty House seat there. The late Jack Venable held the seat until he died November 18th. There are two Republican candidates -- Barry Mask and Don Whorton. There is only one Democrat running -- Tallassee Mayor Bobby Payne. The general election will be held April 4th.
