Washington, DC – Hurricane evacuees who are still living in hotels at the government's expense have one week to register with the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Acting FEMA Director David Paulison says FEMA will stop paying for hotel rooms February seventh unless evacuees register by January 30th. Paulison says the government will cover the hotel stay for registered evacuees until at least February 13th, and probably longer. But that depends on the status of the evacuee's temporary housing applications. Evacuees can register for the extended hotel payments by calling 800- 6-2-1 FEMA.
