Huntsville, AL – There's a winter storm watch in effect for north Alabama Saturday. The National Weather Service office in Huntsville says precipitation is expected to begin as a mix of rain, freezing rain and sleet. Expect more freezing rain in the higher elevations of northeast Alabama. By tomorrow evening, the entire Tennessee Valley is expected to be covered with sleet and snow showers. By the time the precipitation ends, it's expected to consist entirely of snow. Weather forecasters say accumulations will vary. Temperatures, by the way, will start around freezing tomorrow morning and are expected to continue dropping throughout the day.
