Montgomery, AL – Alabama has a new law against child pornography. The legislature passed it, an Governor Bob Riley signed it. It updates the current law to include material produced through the Internet or other modern technology. The new law also allows police to file separate charges for each image of child pornography a person possesses. The previous law allowed authorities to charge someone with only one offense, regardless of the number of images. It was a victory of sorts for the governor. Riley had mentioned the bill as a priority during his "State of the State" speech earlier this year.
