Washington, D.C. – The Alabama Republican says the deal violated the Byrd Amendment, a 1992 law requiring more national security review of some foreign investments. Shelby's comments were made following a congressional hearing yesterday about the deal with Dubai Ports World. Shelby plans to introduce legislation that would give Congress more notice about such deals before they are completed.
