Birmingham, AL – Former Governor Don Siegelman officially announced his political intentions yesterday. He says he is, indeed, campaigning for governor. It wasn't a secret, though. He's been campaigning for months. He told a crowd in Birmingham he wants to complete his dream of establishing a state lottery. He says the money would fund college scholarships. He decided to challenge Governor Bob Riley on his industrial recruitment efforts. But before he could get a chance to face off against Riley, Siegelman would have to get through the Democratic primary. He faces Lieutenant Governor Lucy Baxley in that race.
