Church Fire Update -- 5:35 PM

By Alabama Public Radio

Tuscaloosa, AL – Ben Moseley, Russell DeBusk, Junior and Matthew Cloyd have been arrested on charges of burning nine rural Alabama churches last month. Moseley and DeBusk are 19-year-old students at Birmingham-Southern College. They were arrested together early Wednesday morning. Cloyd is 20 years old and is a student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He previously attended Birmingham Southern and was arrested later that morning. The men have not been indicted, but they are being held on a criminal complaint. They're accused of burning five Baptist churches in Bibb County and four Baptist churches in Pickens, Greene and Sumter counties. The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said it made the arsons its top priority.
