McFerrin Enters Civil Appeals Court Race

By Alabama Public Radio

Birmingham, AL – Birmingham attorney Jim McFerrin is campaigning for a seat on the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals. He's the first Democrat to announce plans to take the spot of retiring Republican Glenn Murdock. It's McFerrin's first political campaign. He says he decided to run for the Court of Civil Appeals because worker compensation insurance cases make up a large part of its caseload. McFerrin says such cases also make up a large part of his law practice. So far, three Republicans have announced plans to seek the same seat on the court.
