west Alabama – The National Weather Service continues its survey of areas damaged by Monday's line of thunderstorms. At least four tornado touchdowns have been confirmed so far, and forecasters say Alabama is lucky there was no serious damage. None of the four tornados were very strong ... two in Fayette and Walker Counties were F-1's, and the others in Lamar and Tuscaloosa Counties were F-0s, the weakest rating. But the storms still knocked down hundreds of trees in a forest in Fayette County and ripped the roof off a barn in Lamar County. There were no serious injuries. Storm surveys will continue this week, and it's possible a fifth touchdown could be added to the overall total.
