Decatur, AL – Some public school principals in the Decatur area say they are increasingly finding themselves in conflict with parents over school discipline issues. They say teachers and administrators have a difficult time keeping the peace and minimizing classroom disruptions. And, the parents are more often taking the side of their children instead of school officials. Austin High School Principal Don Snow says students and parents often don't understand his goal is to change and correct behavior. He says he does not want to hurt students.
