Parker's Aide Will Also Run for Supreme Court

By Alabama Public Radio

Montgomery, AL – State Supreme Court Justice Tom Parker is a former aide to Republican gubernatorial candidate Roy Moore. Now, one of Parker's aides, Retired Air Force Colonel Hank Fowler, says he's running for a spot on the state Supreme Court as a Republican. Fowler says he will challenge one of the three incumbent Republican justices who are seeking re-election, but he says he hasn't decided which one. Fowler is Parker's senior staff attorney. He says he disagrees with the idea that the court system must surrender to every dictate from a liberal majority on the U-S Supreme Court. Fowler is a 30-year Air Force veteran. He was shot down in Vietnam and spent six years as a prisoner of war.
