coastal AL – State health officials have temporarily closed coastal waters in Mobile and Baldwin Counties to shellfish harvesting. Harvesting has been suspended because of a bacteria contamination to oyster beds brought on by recent heavy rainfall. Those waters will be monitored and harvesting will resume as soon as bay waters meet acceptable health standards. The affected areas include Cedar Point, Portersville Bay, Grand Bay, Heron Bay, Dauphin Island Bay and Bon Secour Bay.
