Montgomery, AL – The state House gave final passage on Tuesday to a bill that would broaden the circumstances in which a person can kill someone if that person feels threatened. It's commonly called the deadly force bill. The House passed the legislation after breaking a filibuster by some African American legislators. They are concerned the bill would enable homeowners to shoot virtually anyone for any reason and then claim they felt threatened. The legislation now goes to Governor Bob Riley for his consideration. Spokesman David Ford says the governor supports the bill.
