ADEM Begins Air Monitoring

By Alabama Public Radio

Montgomery, AL – ADEM meteorologists compare data with predicted weather patterns, air pollution computer models and observed trends to prepare the forecasts. The agency's daily air quality forecasts will begin April 18th in Mobile and in May for Birmingham, Decatur and Huntsville. ADEM officials also plan to encourage the public to reduce air pollution. Some suggestions include driving less, particularly during peak traffic periods and on very hot, dry days.
