Cullman, AL – The race for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination has a new contender. Cullman retiree Joe Copeland says he will enter the race because other candidates aren't talking about issues important to him ... that includes a plan to control the state's population growth by giving free contraceptives to all Alabamians. Copeland says he doesn't have much money for ads and doesn't think he'll win. But he says does hope to influence the public discussion. Also running in the June 6th Democratic primary are former Representative Nathan Mathis, attorney Harry Lyon, Lieutenant Governor Lucy Baxley, and former Governor Don Siegelman.
