Montgomery, AL – State Supreme Court Justice Tom Parker is now campaigning as a Republican for the position of chief justice. He will challenge Republican incumbent Drayton Nabers in the primary election on June sixth. The governor appointed Nabers to the position when former Chief Justice Roy Moore was removed from office for refusing to following a federal judicial order. Parker is a former aide to Moore. Parker announced his political intentions Wednesday on the steps of the state judicial building. There is also a Democrat campaigning for the Chief Justice seat -- that's criminal appeals court Judge Sue Bell Cobb.
