Tuscaloosa AL – The National Weather Service says Alabama saw at least 16 tornados during severe weather late Friday night. One tornado in Colbert County left a ten mile long track. Another twister that struck Haleyville was on the ground for about 6 miles. That storm damaged 15 buildings at Haleyville High School. Several other schools in other counties were also damaged. All the tornados rated only as F-zeros or F-ones. The NWS says Alabama was lucky to be spared the brunt of the storm. In neighboring Tennessee, there was widespread devastation and at least a dozen fatalities.
