Auburn AL – The Auburn University Board of Trustees approved a plan to raise tuition by about four percent. That's another 410 dollars a year for in-state undergraduate students. An Auburn education will cost just less than 55-hundred dollars a semester when the new academic year begins. Out-of-state undergraduates will pay about 15-thousand-500 dollars. The university plans to use the extra money to pay for building maintenance. Auburn's trustees also approved a rather large athletic fee increase, from 36 dollars to 192 dollars a year. It's the first athletic fee increase since 1990. Students attending Auburn University Montgomery will pay about two percent more for their education next year. An Auburn University spokesman says trustees approved the changes on a unanimous voice vote.
