Montgomery, AL – Former Chief Justice Roy Moore has raised more money than any other gubernatorial candidate since January. He reported 583-thousand dollars in contributions since then. Governor Riley is next with 486-thousand dollars. Lieutenant Governor Lucy Baxley reported 384-thousand, and former Governor Don Siegelman listed 82-thousand dollars. There are other candidates, of course, but those four have been deemed the major candidates. Moore says his high numbers show a growing strength in his grassroots campaign. But a spokesman for Riley says much of Moore's money has come from out of state while much of the governor's money has been raised in Alabama.
