Mobile, AL – Recent polls suggest Governor Bob Riley is going to be tough to beat as he pursues a second term as governor. A new poll offered two scenarios against the major Democratic challengers. The Mobile Press-Register - University of South Alabama survey shows when Riley is compared to Lieutenant Governor Lucy Baxley, Riley won 49 percent to 33 percent. In another scenario, Riley polled 56 percent to former Governor Don Siegelman's 23 percent. The poll follows two recent statewide surveys that also showed Riley holds a significant lead over former Chief Justice Roy Moore. Moore is challenging Riley in the June sixth Republican primary.
