Undated, AL – Alabamians took a few moments Thursday to observe the National Day of Prayer. At the state capitol building, more than 250 people gathered at noon to mark the occasion. Students from public and private schools turned out for the ceremony, as did several adults. And, similar events were held across the state. Supreme Court Chief Justice Drayton Nabers spoke at a prayer breakfast in Prattville. Governor Bob Riley participated in a breakfast in Gulf Shores. He also released a statement that said the National Day of Prayer is a reminder of the importance of making God and prayer a priority in life.
