Montgomery, AL – The Legislature's Contract Review Committee took a negative view of a contract proposal from Secretary of State Nancy Worley. She proposed spending 563 thousand dollars on a statewide advertising campaign to educate voters about recent changes in the state's voting requirements. But the Contract Review Committee delayed the contract for 45 days, which is the maximum amount of time allowed. Adam Bourne, an attorney for the secretary of state's office, says that blocked the ad campaign for the primary election. He says the ads will help voters stay aware of recent changes in the state's voting laws.
