Montgomery, AL – Darin Cline was a fundraiser for former Governor Don Siegelman's failed lottery campaign. That's one reason he was on the stand Monday testifying in the corruption case against Siegelman, former HealthSouth C-E-O Richard Scrushy and two others. Prosecutors say the second week of the trial will deal mostly with Scrushy's appointment to the Alabama Certificate of Need Review Board. Prosecutors say Cline's testimony will help them prove their charge that Siegelman agreed to appoint Scrushy to the board in exchange for 500-thousand dollars in contributions.
