Alabama – A legal battle over royalties to the Southern rock anthem "Sweet Home Alabama" heads to court. Former Lynryd Skynyrd guitarist Edward King co-wrote several of the band's biggest hits but quit the band before the 1977 airplane crash where several band members died. Soon after leaving the band, King struck an agreement with attorney Lawrence Fox regarding royalties from the recording company. Fox says that agreement gave him one-third of all future and past due loyalties. But King says Fox was only entitled to past-due royalties, and is seeking more than a half million dollars.
