Former CFO Continues Testimony in Corruption Case

By Alabama Public Radio

Montgomery, AL – HealthSouth's former Chief Financial Officer continued his testimony on the eighth day of the government corruption trial in Montgomery federal court. Mike Martin told the jury former HealthSouth C-E-O Richard Scrushy said the company needed to make a contribution to former Governor Don Siegelman's lottery campaign. Martin suggested it was necessary to get a seat on a state hospital regulatory board. Prosecutors are trying to prove Siegelman traded government favors in exchange for gifts and campaign contributions.
