Montgomery, AL – Loree Skelton testified Thursday in the government corruption trial against former HealthSouth C-E-O Richard Scrushy and three others. Skelton is an attorney for HealthSouth who said when Scrushy was a member of a state hospital regulatory board, he did not vote on matters that could have helped the company. She also said Scrushy would vote for projects that would benefit his competitors. Prosecutors are trying to prove that Scrushy was appointed to the regulatory board in exchange for 500 thousand dollars in contributions to former Governor Don Siegelman's lottery campaign. Federal Judge Mark Fuller gave everyone the day off Friday so a juror could attend her child's graduation.
