Washington County AL – There could soon be a flood of newly licensed home builders in Alabama. This, as about 46-hundred people try to slip through a lophole that could allow them to become licensed without taking a difficult certification exam. That loophole was present if one purchased a business license in Washington County which only recently came under the state's home builder licensing law. However, the Alabama Home Builders Licensure Board says applicants can only gain a test exemption, if they can prove they meet requirements. It's estimated that only about half of those who signed up in Washington County will gain a license.
