Huntsville AL – A Huntsville police officer who was killed in the line of duty was honored Monday by President Bush in the annual ceremony at the National Law Enforcement Memorial. Officer Daniel Golden was among 155 officers who died in the line of duty last year. Golden was shot to death after arriving to investigate a domestic disturbance in north Huntsville. At yesterday's ceremony, Bush told relatives of fallen officers that he wished he could somehow heal their hurt.
