Montgomery AL – Despite some rather unexpected opinions, the Alabama Democratic Party says it will not remove attorney general candidate Larry Darby from its primary ballot. Darby is a Montgomery attorney who founded the Atheist Law Center. He faces Mobile County District Attorney John Tyson. The party began reviewing Darby's candidacy after comments where he disputed the Holocaust and said he would instruct law enforcement to shoot illegal immigrants on sight. Democratic officials have called those views offensive and bizarre, but say it's too late to remove him because absentee ballots are already being cast. Darby called the Democratic Party's leadership "morally challenged''.
