Montgomery, AL – The government corruption trial in Montgomery is taking Monday off for the Memorial Day holiday. The trial will resume Tuesday. Lead prosecutor Louis Franklin says he hopes the prosecution will rest its case some time this week. He says trials are fluid, and the cross-examinations have been taking a long time. But former Governor Don Siegelman, who is on trial with three others, has accused federal prosecutors of deliberately being slow. He's campaigning for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination, and he had been hoping the trial would be over by the June 6th primary election.
